KEYS and the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino partner with the San Bernardino County Transitional Assistance Department (TAD) to administer the new CalWORKs Housing Support Program which promotes housing stability for homeless families
This rapid rehousing program couples short-term rental assistance with case management and family stabilization to quickly move families back into permanent housing and maintain that housing over time.

Who Qualifies

Homeless families with children who are receiving CalWORKs.

How to Apply

If a family is receiving CalWORKs or thinks they may be eligible for CalWORKs they should visit their local TAD office and meet with an eligibility worker. If they qualify they will be referred to KEYS for intake and housing search and stabilization assistance.

Program Success Stories

Ms. Elizabeth and her family became homeless overnight causing immediate concerns about her family’s safety, the education of her children, and lack of financial resources to move into another home. Thankfully, Ms. Elizabeth and her family were referred by the Department of Transitional Assistance to the Housing Support Program. Her family received housing assistance and supportive services in the areas of employment, education, budgeting, and child care.

She reminisces that her experience with the KEYS case management, which she called “one of the most beneficial components of the program; it motivated my family to do more than we would have done on our own.” Ms. Elizabeth and her family celebrate having a stable place to call home.
